Induction loop systems (Audio Frequency Induction Loop Systems – AFILS) are used to assist the hearing impaired by transmitting amplified sound, music, speech, etc, to hearing aids fitted with a telecoil. (NHS and most other third party hearing aids are fitted with telecoils.)
Demand for AFILS is increasing due to new legislation aimed at preventing discrimination against disabled people. (Disbability Discrimination Act)
We can install a hearing loop system in public places such as churches, cinemas and theatres, banks, ticket and information counters and desks, it is even found in the home. In all these cases the T facility on the hearing aid, is used in to improve the quality of the sound.
